Well, we've had a hard freeze for two days in a row now with two or three more to go. I saw Rocket yesterday and he looked just fine. He wasn't stressing or showing any signs of having problems with the cold, so he's ok.

I'm glad. I was worrying about him again. At least all the pests on him will die now. He'll be flea free for awhile. I can't wait until he trusts me enough to hold him and pet him. Then I can get some flea and tick control on him.

Thanks Lady Rasta! Rocket has become important to me. Having seen him at his worst and through his life until now, I find it very interesting to watch him mature.

After his first wild mating season, he's changed dramatically. His entire bearing has changed to a mature cat who is now more aware of his world and more confident to control that part of it that he can. I think he's also been a life and death contestant in a few battles now. He has no marks on him, but he's looked pretty haggard a couple times, like he was so tired he could hardly move to eat. Hair all matted, kind of retro-wild look in his eyes...

He's cleaned himself up to be a big fluffy ball of black and white patches.

He's eating like a little pig again too.

Yeah, they do. My Florida room faces the screened room via a glass door. Rocket and the inside cats evidently interacted and Rocket sprayed the outside of the Florida room door.

I discovered it while it was still fresh and treated it with pet odor removal solution.

If I find he's done this again, it's going to complicate things. I'll have to block Rocket from the screened porch and he will be a truly outside cat at that point.

I hope he got the message...no spraying in my home!

Here's a pic of the star of the thread:

(The pic is pretty bad because it's through a screen. He won't let me very close yet, and I don't want to totally freak him out with a flash from the camera inside the screened porch.)

I think that's some real sound advice. I'm going to have to wait until he's a bit more domesticated first. I think drugging him would be the only way to pack him into a traveler right now, and I strongly dislike doing that. As soon as he can handle my touching him and petting him, I'll do that for sure. Until then, I know he's got some girlfriends! Nature will have to take it's course. He is a pretty cat. He's filled out nicely.

Ha! You crack me up! Yeah, but I over-powered his spray job with my Rug Doctor Anti-Pet Smell Solution! So far, it's worked. He hasn't done it again. He was watching when I "sprayed" the same area with that stuff and it smells WAY better than what he left.

The animal kingdom has some strange habits that don't get along with people habits real well.
